Hailing from Torino, Italy, Casa Cinzano traces its roots to 1757, when the innovative Cinzano brothers began infusing and sweetening wine blends sourced from nearby vineyards. This marked the genesis of Cinzano’s renowned vermouth, with its original formula still central to the vermouth enjoyed today.
The flavour profile is comforting, reminiscent of dried fig. It gently reveals subtle spice hints (including cloves, nutmeg, and cinnamon) as well as woody elements (root and bark notes reminiscent of licorice). These are skillpiecey balanced by touches of vanilla and absinthe, leading to a lingering, bittersweet conclusion.
Perfect for starting a meal, enjoy it as an aperitif alongside cold meats and Italian cheeses. Savour it straight or pair it with Italian aperitivos.
